The latest attempt to tell the Charlie’s Angels story has bombed at the box office after its Ariana Grande-led soundtrack did the same on the Billboard 200.

The first reports hinting that a new Angels movie was on the way revealed that Destiny’s Child and Lupita Nyong’o were being courted to support the release on a soundtrack and acting front respectively.
Shortly after, the world learned that Ariana Grande was to lead its soundtrack and that Ms. Nyong’o would not be attached to it.
Today, it has tanked at the box office.
How so? By opening with $8 million. Horrific, because it was baked with a $48 million budget.
One of its problems? Its supposed failure to captivate African-American moviegoers.
Deadline reveals…
Charlie’s Angels drew a 66% female crowd, split between 36% over 25 and 30% under 25, but both demos respectively graded it low at 68% and 79% with men at 35% giving it a 68% grade on PostTrak. Diversity breakdown was 52% Caucasian, 21% Hispanic, 14% Asian/Other, & 13% African American.

I’ve heard of a flop but DAMN! They did worst than most TV movies, what’s their plan to make even a forth back? And the soundtrack failing as well doesn’t help, especially being helmed by Ariana Grande of all people, she’s not THAT girl! They need to sell the crap to a network, like TNT or TBS but even then…you’ll have a better turnover airing the original instead lmao!

LOL i love it when whites lose their money in investing. Im happy this movie flopped and rumor has it the studio was about to drop another 50 mil in marketing but pulled the plug on it lmao. Tyler Perry is making films at penny on the dollar rates and showing good profit returns in atlanta.

We all knew this’ll happen.
People loved the old movies. Like everyone loved them. They were fun, had a great cast, still had a message of female power without forcing it to the people. Drew was known, Cameron was America’s sweetheart and Lucy was loved for Ally McBeal. I liked all three of them.
And what is the cast now? Kirsten Steward, who people not even liked in Twilight and two girls no one has ever heard of. That all with trailers that looked like this movie wants to be some Rambo type of s*** with bad jokes and a soundtrack that sounded like it was made for 11 year old girls in 2003. This was all a mess.
I just don’t know why directors want to make a movie like this.
Just make a cool movie that is cool and not “we seen this kind of action and style before”.

Don’t feminists claim that it’s about equality, (the famous dictionary definition), rather than female superiority or simply hatred of men? But instead of inventing new characters, writing original good and making great films with the potential to become successful franchises, they keep stealing traditionally male roles and inserting their agenda by gender swapping the protagonists. That’s why we get repeated flops like the female ‘Ghostbusters,’ ‘Star Wars Episodes , 7-9,’ and ‘Terminator; Dark Fate.’ Why aren’t feminists demanding Mills & Boone change their plots to attract male readers? Is 50-50 male to female equality only necessary in media like action films that traditionally appeal more to males?
The original Charley’s Angels’ had three female protagonists, so continuing the current trend in gender swapping reboots, Elizabeth Banks should’ve replaced them with three male action heroes who work for a mysterious female boss. That would be genuine equality/feminist film-making. Instead, we are supposed to suspend disbelief to the point all white heterosexual men are evil yet also stupid while women are all noble, intelligent, faultless strong independent warriors.
When a 120lb 5′ 5″ woman beats up a room full of well-muscled male gangsters single-handed, without getting so much as a hair out of place, never mind a fat lip, it requires more than the mere SUSPENSION of disbelief; it needs to be hanged, drawn and quartered!
So the movie might have bombed but the soundtrack still had the top 15 hit Don’t Call Me Angel on it so it’s not all a lose and hey soundtrack might have flopped but was still a top 40 release. it’s never a total loss with anything there is always a positive in everything
